Seed Peace – Casey’s Fund Supporting Farmers

Mission Statement

Seed Peace – Casey’s Fund Supporting Farmers, exists to honor and remember Casey Piscura by providing grants and supportive services that nurture the mind, body, soul, and spirit of regenerative farmers. Our mission focuses on sustaining those who care for the land and grow nourishing food in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado and the New River Valley of Virginia.

How the Fund Operates Cash Grants for Unforeseen Expenses: To offer rapid-response financial assistance during times of need to include:

  • Travel Expenses
  • Crop Failure Relief
  • Equipment Repair
  • Veterinary Preventative Care

FarmStrong Health and Wellness Program: Recognizing that farmers’ health and well-being are integral to their work, the fund offers vouchers for essential services to include:

  • Medical Care (direct primary care that requires a $360 donation from the farmer to Seed Peace)
  • Eye exam and glasses (totally free to the farmer)
  • Mental Health Counseling (totally free to the farmer)
  • Yoga classes ( totally free to the farmer)

Additional services will be added in the future. These vouchers allow recipients to access care at low or no cost, provided through a network of community partners and service providers.

Partnership Opportunities – How you Can Help

We are actively seeking partners to extend discounted or donated services to Seed Peace – Casey’s Fund Supporting Farmers, including:

  • Healthcare Providers (clinics, urgent care, optometrists, therapists)
  • Wellness Practitioners (yoga studios, fitness centers, mental health counselors, bodyworkers)
  • Agricultural Businesses (equipment suppliers, repair shops)

If you are a service provider or business willing to offer a discount or donation, the fund will purchase services in bulk when possible, creating vouchers that we can distribute to farmers in need. This way, your support directly reaches the people growing our food and caring for our land.

National Farmers Mental Health Alliance is providing free training for individuals interested in becoming agriculture informed therapists.
